Gallery Information
Joan Grona Gallery was established
in 1992 and is located in the nationally known Blue Star Arts Complex.The
gallery represents local, national, and international artists.The
gallery fosters an understanding and appreciation of art in a friendly
environment through exhibitions, lectures, and guided tours. The gallery
collection includes a broad range of innovative, original art works
by established and emerging artists. Paintings, sculpture, photography,

Art Advisors
As art advisors we can work with
clients on developing private and corporate collections, assisting
them in the acquisition of a single piece or an entire collection.
We will gladly visit homes or
offices to recommend appropriate artwork, and can install the artwork
after purchase.

Unique Function Space
The gallery may be rented for private events
(e.g. lectures, classes, wedding receptions, cocktail parties, etc.),
and can comfortably accommodate up to 100 guests.

First Fridays Gallery
Walk
Every month, on the first Friday of the month
the gallery along with the other galleries in the Blue Star Arts Complex
have simultaneous openings attracting crowds of art lovers from across
South Texas. Artist's studios can be visited on this night and there
is entertainment and live music.

Contemporary
Art Month
The month of July the city celebrates Contemporary
Art Month. Since 1985, the City of San Antonio has been the home of
the only month-long celebration of Contemporary Art in the nation.

Directions to the gallery
The Gallery is located in a converted warehouse space and is part
of the Blue Star Arts Complex. The buildings in the Complex sit on
what used to be a downtown warehouse terminal of the MKT (Katy) Railroad.
The Complex is on the San Antonio River on the Southern edge of the
central business district. There is ample parking at the complex.
Also located in the complex is a brew pub and restaurant. Trolley
service is available from downtown.
Across the river from the complex lies the King William Historic District,
where you can tour some of of the most beautiful, turn of the century
homes in the city.
The Pioneer Flour Mill is located across the street from the complex.
Here you can visit the historic Guenther House which was built in
1860. The house is restored and contains a restaurant, house museum
and retail store.
We are located five minutes south of downtown San Antonio. Follow
S. Alamo Street south for 1-1/2 miles. Street. The Complex is located
just south of the San Antonio River at 1400 South Alamo .
